Description
- Résumé / Abstract
- The history of Mersen, known for many years as Le Carbone Lorraine, is exemplary in many respects. First of all, the group was one of the pioneers that spearheaded the second industrial revolution. It was founded in the closing decades of the 19th century, which were marked by the emergence of a new source of energy. Electricity would form a connecting thread running throughout the history of Mersen from the early days of electrification right up to today’s challenge of the energy transition. In addition, the group has always nurtured a culture of innovation, constantly improving its processes while demonstrating a capacity to achieve technological breakthroughs and tailoring its R&D to meet its customers’ needs. Lastly, and here again ever since its inception, Mersen has adopted an international approach to its markets, starting with Europe but quickly reaching out to North America and subsequently to Asia. is international perspective, present right from the early days, has driven the group’s growth while helping to forge its identity. Mersen’s history has constantly been underpinned by the energy to innovate in a global setting, and this remains as true as ever today.
