    A travers l’histoire de deux sculpteurs, Reynold Arnould et Raymond Gosselin qui travaillèrent beaucoup le métal et en particulier l’aluminium, cet article montre le dialogue et les interactions fructueuses qui peuvent exister entre l’art, l’industrie et la technique. Il révèle ainsi comment les artistes peuvent contribuer eux aussi aux progrès des industriels par les défis qu’ils posent dans leurs réalisations. Ce dialogue entre par ailleurs en écho avec celui que l’art entretient avec la cité elle-même. Il est ici question notamment de la ville du Havre, ville en pleine reconstruction au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et champ d’expérimentation de toutes les audaces architecturales et artistiques.
    
    
    Through the story of two sculptors, Reynold Arnould and Raymond Gosselin, who worked extensively with metal, particularly aluminium, this article shows the dialogue and fruitful interactions that can occur between art, industry and technology. It also reveals how artists too can contribute to industrial progress by the challenges they raise in their works. Furthermore, this dialogue mirrors the dialogue between art and society itself. In particular, the story concerns Le Havre, a city undergoing reconstruction following the Second World War and a testing ground for every kind of daring architectural and artistic experiment.
