    He was a very prolific inventor with 250 patents in his name. He was made into a millionaire with his invention of the centrifugal casting process for cast iron pipes in the twenties. He also designed his own airplane, the first hydraulic transmission for an automobile, a jet engine and a ramjet, all in the thirties"
